In April, The Arena proved why it is considered to have one of the most successful Pro MMA Teams in the world today. The Arena Team had 8 of its Team members, as well as 2 additional fighters who finished their training camps at The Arena, battle it out in 6 different shows across 4 different countries. The results: An outstanding 9 wins and 1 loss. Even more noteworthy was the amazing 70% rate in which the fights ended by wins in the 1st round.

On Friday April 8th, Arena fighters Cosmoe Cala, Mike Bravo, and Kiel Reid all won their fights in the 1st round by TKO, TKO and Submission in the NFC event held in California. The same night, Felipe Portela also won by Submission in the 1st round in the XCage event held in Mexico. Eric Schambari, a Jeff Clark managed fighter, finished his training camp at The Arena and fought on the April 8th Xcage event alongside Arena Team Member Felipe Portela. Like Felipe, Eric won by Submission in the 1st round, improving his record to 15-2.

On Saturday April 9th, Gheorghe Ignat won by Submission in the 1st round in the HPF event held in Hungary. The same night, Joe Duarte also won by Submission in the 2nd round in the Strikeforce event held in San Diego. Robert Peralta, another Jeff Clark managed fighter who finished his training camp at The Arena, also fought and won in Strikeforce that night. Peralta was a huge underdog in his fight against Hiroyuli Takaya, but came out with a win by decision and jumped to the #4 ranked fighter in the world as a 145 pounder according to Fightmatrix.com (the MMA industry’s leading ranking system).

The only Pro MMA loss for the Arena Team for the month (and the first one for 2011) was the same weekend, where Curtis Demarce fought UFC vet Marcus Davis to a standstill in an extremely competitive fight in the MFC event held in Canada April 9th. But The Arena Team quickly bounced back with another win 2 weeks later on April 23rd, when Jared Hess won by submission in the 1st round in a Bellator event held in Oklahoma.

All Arena Team fighters are managed and trained by Jeff Clark, who can be found online at . Jeff coaches at The Arena along with well-known San Diego MMA Coach Pat Speight. Together, this dynamic coaching duo and their group of fighters are proving to be nearly unbeatable as The Arena continues its mission to build one of the best fight teams in the world.
