This testimonial showcases The Arena’s Ken Dutkiewicz. Listen to what he has to say about his reasons for joining our family, learning from The Arena’s Boxing Coach Joe Vargas, and preparing for Golden Gloves boxing tournament.
My name is Ken Dutkiewicz. The reason I started going to the gym, well, I used to do a little bit of MMA and wrestling and stuff like that when I was 17. And when I got out of the Marine Corps, I realized that I got out of shape, like a lot of us in the military do, and that wasn’t okay with me. Next day, I decided I had to make a change. Walked in through the doors and took boxing lessons.
So I’ve been training under coach Joe the entire time that I’ve been here. He always has a way that can help me and it will help me towards my style of fighting. He’s not going to try to change my style of fighting because he really likes to work off what a fighter has within them, rather than making everybody the same here at the gym.
The guys at the gym, wow. You couldn’t ask for better training partners. It’s nothing but strong men, strong women that will push your pace and pushes your limit. We’re preparing for Golden Gloves right now. That’s next week. So, I got a little bit of weight to cut. Training is going good. We’re getting extra rounds, sparring, upping the volume, upping the conditioning. Everything’s been going really great, can’t make any complaints.
